Humor The Secret to Twitter Engagement
| Share |

Humor can be one of your most powerful tools when it comes to marketing on Twitter. Twitter followers often appreciate a touch of humor in an otherwise overly serious world. Don’t ever underestimate the value of humor and its ability to have a lasting impression on the people you wish to influence in life. And keep in mind that people never remember what you made them think, but they always remember how you made them feel.
When Tweeting I like to follow the recipe below to guide my posts. Send five tweets per day using the topic mix below:
- 1x – Ask an engaging question that my audience will be motivated to answer.
- 2x – Answer questions from guru tweeters in my field. In formulating an answer I share excellent resources in my answers that the expert audience will find valuable.
- 1x – Share knowledge that is of value to your audience. Post something of value like, a free report, article link, or book recommendation.
- 1x – Tell a joke, funny quip, or link to a funny video. I try to stick to one or two line jokes, after all you only have 100 characters.
Great places to find jokes for your Twitter marketing (all designed to fit in 140 characters or less):
